Nissan Key Replacement Vancouver

Vancouver · BC
Nissan key gone?New fob cut.Programmed at your car.

We come to you across Vancouver — Kitsilano, Mount Pleasant, Yaletown, or a Downtown parkade — and cut & program a replacement Nissan key or Intelligent Key fob on the spot. Altima, Rogue, Sentra, Qashqai, Micra, Frontier and more. No tow, no dealer wait.

► 01 / Nissan keys & fobs

Intelligent Keys, made local.

Lost or broken Nissan key doesn't have to mean a tow and a week of waiting on a dealer part. Our mobile techs carry Nissan key blanks, Intelligent Key fobs and the programming gear in the truck — most Nissans are handled right in your driveway, the parkade, or a spot at the curb.

Nissan uses two broad key systems, and which one you have changes the job. Older models — think early Altima, Sentra, Versa and Frontier — run a transponder chip inside a bladed key that has to be programmed to the immobiliser before the engine will crank. Newer models use the Nissan Intelligent Key (often badged I-Key), a proximity smart fob that unlocks the doors as you approach and lets you start the car with the push-button ignition. Both are programmable on-site for the vast majority of Nissans on Vancouver roads — we confirm your exact year and model on the phone before we head out.

What's included

  • Nissan Intelligent Key / I-Key smart fob supply and proximity + push-to-start programming
  • Transponder key cutting and chip programming for older Altima, Sentra, Versa, Frontier and more
  • Remote head key and flip-key remote programming (lock / unlock / trunk / panic)
  • All-keys-lost service — full immobiliser re-enrol via OBD when every fob is missing
  • Erase of old lost fobs so a found key can no longer start your Nissan
  • Spare Intelligent Key or transponder key cut & programmed at the same visit
  • Key-fob battery replacement and a quick check of the mechanical emergency blade inside the fob

Common Nissan models we key on-site

We regularly cut and program keys for the Altima, Rogue and Rogue Sport, Sentra, Versa and Versa Note, Qashqai, Kicks, Murano, Pathfinder, Frontier, Titan, Leaf, Maxima and Micra. If your Nissan isn't on that list, it almost certainly still isn't a problem — call with the year and model and we'll confirm parts and programming before quoting.

Typical Nissan price ranges

Nissan key typeTypical range
Transponder key (older, chip only, no remote)$110–$190
Remote head key (chip + remote in one key)$150–$260
Flip / switchblade key with remote$140–$250
Intelligent Key / I-Key smart fob (push-to-start)$220–$400
Second / spare key at the same visit$90–$220
All-keys-lost (re-enrol immobiliser via OBD)$280–$500

Ranges cover the fob or key, labour, and programming. Late-model Intelligent Keys and all-keys-lost jobs sit at the higher end because the fob itself costs more and the immobiliser re-enrol takes longer. We give you a firm range on the phone once we confirm your year, make and model — no surprises when we arrive.

How it works

01

Call or book online

Tell us the model, year and — if you can read it off the registration — the VIN. We confirm whether it's a transponder key or an Intelligent Key and give you a firm price range on the call.

02

We come to your Nissan

A mobile tech heads to wherever the car is parked — the West End, Kitsilano, an Oakridge surface lot, or a Downtown Vancouver parkade. Nothing gets towed anywhere.

03

Cut, program, verify

We cut the blade (or supply the fob), program the chip and remote to your immobiliser, then test everything — proximity unlock, push-to-start, lock, trunk — before we pack up.

Dealer vs. mobile locksmith for a Nissan key

A Nissan dealership will usually order the Intelligent Key from a distribution centre (often 2–5 business days), charge dealer-rate programming labour, and expect you to tow the car in if it won't start with the key you have. A mobile locksmith carries the fob and the programming tools in the truck and does the whole job at your location, same day. For the great majority of Nissans the final price is the same or lower than the dealer, and you save the tow and the wait. The exception is a small number of the very newest models with encrypted programming — if yours is one of those, we'll tell you honestly on the phone so you're never charged for an attempt we can't finish.

Nissan key help across Vancouver

Vancouver drivers park everywhere from the underground parkades of Downtown and Coal Harbour to the metered streets along Commercial Drive and the beach lots out at Kitsilano and Point Grey. Drop or lose your Nissan fob at any of them and you're stuck if you call someone who doesn't actually cover the city. We're local, so we know the neighbourhoods and the parking areas and can reach you from the West End to Marpole without the wait.

We also serve the residential and retail side: the condo towers and strata parkades of Yaletown and the West End, the single-family streets in Dunbar, Kerrisdale and Point Grey, and the shops around Cambie and Oakridge. Wherever your Nissan is parked across Vancouver, we're the call to make.

FAQ

How much is a Nissan key fob replacement in Vancouver?
It depends on the system. An older transponder key typically runs $110–$190; a modern Intelligent Key (push-to-start) fob runs $220–$400 supplied and programmed; an all-keys-lost re-enrol runs $280–$500. We give you a firm range on the phone once you tell us the model and year.
Can you program a Nissan Intelligent Key without the dealer?
Yes — for the vast majority of Nissans we supply the Intelligent Key fob and program proximity entry and push-to-start on-site via the OBD port. Only a small set of the newest encrypted models still require the dealer, and we'll flag that on the phone before we head out.
I lost all the keys to my Nissan Rogue — can you still make one?
Yes. With no working fob we perform an all-keys-lost procedure: we access the immobiliser through the OBD port, re-initialise it and enrol a brand-new Intelligent Key. It takes longer than a spare and needs proof of ownership, but we carry the equipment for most Nissans — call to confirm your year first.
Do you cut keys for older Nissan Altima and Sentra models?
We do — older bladed transponder Altimas, Sentras, Versas and Frontiers are among the most common Nissan jobs we handle. We carry the legacy Nissan blanks and program the chip on-site. Pre-immobiliser models are even simpler: a plain mechanical cut and you're done.
My Nissan fob unlocks the doors but the car won't start — what's wrong?
If the remote still locks and unlocks but the push-button start won't crank, the fob battery is often too weak to complete the immobiliser handshake — hold the fob against the start button to try the backup coil. If that fails, the chip may have lost its programming or the fob is faulty. We diagnose it on-site and reprogram or replace as needed.
How long does it take to program a Nissan smart key on-site?
A standard Intelligent Key or transponder key with one existing working key is usually 20–45 minutes at your location. All-keys-lost on a late-model Nissan can run 45–75 minutes because of the full immobiliser re-enrol. We give you an honest time estimate on the call.
